Funke Akindele aka jenifa reacts to students being flogged, calls for teacher’s sack.

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has demanded an end to flogging of students in Nigerian schools. The actress in reaction to a video of girls been flogged mercilessly by a teacher described the practice as, “wicked” and “evil.” She made the call in a video uploaded on her Instagram account on Tuesday evening. In the video, a male teacher was seen viciously flogging some female students with a cable. The students, who were on a sort of Assembly line could be seen in pain after being flogged by the teacher. However, ‘Jenifa’ as widely called has called for the teacher’s sack while also demanding for the name of the school and teacher. She wrote: What? Who is this TEACHER flogging these students? DE Gea Named In FIFA Team Of The Year For 2017

The 27-year-old was among 55 players who were originally shortlisted for inclusion by EA SPORTS based on their real-life performances throughout 2017. The starting XI was then voted for by a select list of athletes, media and members of the EA SPORTS FIFA community, who were all asked to create a team that consisted of a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards. These were later shared on Twitter using the hashtag #TOTYVote. Fulani herdsman killed in Ekiti

There is tension in Oke Ako and Irele communities in Ikole local government area of Ekiti State following the alleged killing of a Fulani herdsman on Monday. The herdsman, whose name was given as Babuba Dengi, was killed in a bush between the two communities by settlers suspected to be Benue State indigenes. ‎The incident forced the state Governor, Ayo Fayose, to summon a meeting on Tuesday night at the Government House in Ado Ekiti, where he warned farmers and herdsmen against turning the state to a “war zone.” The governor has given a marching order to security agencies in the state to fish out the killers of the herdsman and bring them to justice. Customs Officials Kill 1, Injured 2 In Lagos

Men of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), today, shot and killed a young man at about 08:00am in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. The boy, identified to be Toheeb Olayiwola, boarded a public bus to convey him to his place of work but was hit on his head when customs officers fired shots at the bus he boarded. Our correspondent who visited the scene gathered that a commercial bus conveying passengers and food items was stopped by two customs patrol van. Narrating the incidence, one of the passengers said they were shocked when they were stopped and customs official immediately opened fire on them. “We noticed custom vans were following us and the driver stopped. When we stopped, our driver got down to meet them while the passengers were in the bus. Immediately about six of them came down of the van, rounded our bus while we are still in it and they started shooting.” He recounted the terrible ordeal.
